World Cup 2022: Check Out The Only African Team In The Tournament
Senegal’s exit from the 2022 World Cup on Sunday means there is just one African team left in the competition.
The five countries that represented the continent this year were: Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Morocco and Cameroon. Out of that number, only two made it into the Round of 16.
Senegal finished second in Group A behind the Netherlands, ahead of Ecuador and Iran.
Morocco qualified as winners of Group F, with Croatia coming second ahead of Belgium and Canada.
The Teranga Lions took on England in their last-16 clash on Sunday, losing 3-1 thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
This leaves Morocco as the only African nation still in Qatar. The Atlas Lions will face Spain in their last-16 tie on Tuesday.
Ghana Black Stars failed to qualify to the next stage of the competition. The team finished last in group H with just three points. The team lost to both Portugal and Uruguay.
Africans will surely support their own as the whole continent currently supports Morocco national team.
