There are many different causes of kidney failure, and the condition can be either acute or chronic. Acute kidney failure occurs when the kidneys suddenly become unable to function properly, while chronic kidney failure is a more gradual process that can occur over months or years.

Some of the most common causes of kidney failure include: -Kidney stones: Kidney stones are small, hard deposits that form in the kidneys and can block the flow of urine.

If left untreated, they can eventually lead to renal damage and kidney failure. -Glomerulonephritis: This is a type of inflammation that affects the glomeruli (the tiny filters in your kidneys that remove waste from your blood). Glomerulonephritis can be caused by infections, autoimmune diseases, or other conditions.

If left untreated, it can lead to permanent damage to the kidneys and eventual renal failure. -Chronic pyelonephritis:

This is a long-term infection of one or both kidneys that often results from an initial urinary tract infection (UTI). Chronic pyelonephritis often leads to scarring of the kidneys and may eventually cause renal impairment or complete renal failure if left untreated -Polycystic kidney disease:

This hereditary disorder causes numerous cysts (fluid -filled sacs) to form in your kidneys . These cysts gradually replace healthy tissue , leading to impaired function and eventually total organ Failure .
